Discord raids on Tuesday and Thursday, from 8PM-12AM EST. Raiders are given a quick 10 minute break at 19PM.
What is your trial process like?
While our trial process does not last a set amount of time, typical trials last 2-4 weeks. During your trial you will be expected to ask questions and take responsibility for your own performance. If we feel you have a lot of potential but need to work on a few things, we may choose to extend your trial. Loot for trials is lowest priority during loot decisions, but a trials MS always outweighs any level of raiders' OS.
What is Loot Council? How does it work?
Loot Council is a loot distribution method used by many WOW guilds that raid end-game content. Basically, when a boss dies the loot is linked to the raid and raiders "bid" on items they would like (just indicate that is a piece they would like for MS or OS) via our in-game addon. The "bidding" is then closed and officers deliberate who will receive the loot with a "majority rules" voting system that takes into account all "bidders" guild rank, attendance trends, performance, loot history, and size of upgrade. Based on these factors, officers vote on who they feel should receive the loot. The person with the majority of officer votes receives the loot! Officers who are a "bidder" for an item may listen to the loot council deliberation, but are not authorized to take part in the council at all until that item has been decided upon.
What is the guild atmosphere of Discord?
Discord was founded as a casual raiding guild, and it is important to us that our members keep that in mind. We use a very light raiding schedule to accommodate players' real-lives while maintaining a solid progression curve through end-game content. While we are not the best or most progressed raiding guild on the block, we are by no means the worst. We like to joke and have fun during our raids, but it is also important to us that our time is used efficiently (because we have so little of it!). Consistently disruptive behavior from our raiders is not tolerated. Reliability, consistency, and performance are some of our key values.
On off-raid nights, a majority of our members like to stay active within various communities. We have a lot of PVP'ers and achievement-whores. On any given night, you can expect to find groups looking for casual PVP and possible rated PVP, old content raids, or even members looking for guild members to play other games besides WOW.
When can I expect to hear back about my application?
Our application response time varies from application to application, but we try to get back to you within 2 days one way or the other. This time may not be accurate if the recruitment team has questions for you about your application, and our response time would then depend on your response time to us. If accepted, we'd like to hear from you in-game as soon as possible so we can get you all set up in your new home!
Is there anything I should know before I apply?
Again, our guild is a very casual atmosphere. We really don't appreciate elitist or abrasive attitudes, in our raids or in our general chat. While we realize that everyone has their moments, we have a low tolerance for this type of behavior. Raider performance is dealt with at the officer level only - and in a private manner. We recruit adult raiders only (18+) for this reason.
Are applications private?
Applications are viewable by our raiders, and constructive criticisms are allowed by members. There is a seperate area where only officers can comment.
